Alaskan Rain Forest

Did you know that Alaska is a rain forest? I sure didn't. While in Alaska, Terry and I took a land tour to an uninhabited island in Sitka and got to see it for ourselves. Beautiful, beautiful. This was actually my second favorite part of Alaska. (The first being Hubbard Glacier Bay). The rain forest was so lush and green and VERY quiet. I could live there forever but.......I let my mind wander to the creatures that live and hunt there--they gave us BEAR whistles and instructions on what to do if we spotted one!! so NO THANKS......I'll just stay in my busy town of 90,000 people and live in my 3,000 sqaure foot home where the only creatures lurking about are Terry, John, and Bailey the dog! John and Bailey are always on the hunt for food--usually sweets or popcorn. Can't tell you what Terry is usually hunting for and lurking about after -- this IS a FAMILY website with the strictest of standards!! ;);)

Our Anniversary Cruise

On September 20, Terry and I left for an Alaskan cruise on Holland America Cruise Lines. We booked this cruise to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We had never cruised before but we were excited to begin our journey. We were gone for 7 days. We left out of Seattle, Washington and returned there also. We went to Juneau, Hubbard Glacier Bay, Sitka, Ketchikan, and Victoria, British Columbia. It was a quick seven days but definetely the trip of a lifetime. We are totally hooked on cruising!
