So, this is my new super cute table lamp that Terry and I made from an old oil furnace that belonged to Terry's Grandpa Hall. We remodeled the bedroom upstairs and turned it into a TV/Reading room. I needed a small table to set beside the chair soooooooo.....this idea was born. I LOVE old things and like to try to find new purpose for them. Pretty cute, huh? We're pretty proud! Eat your heart out, Amber!
This old furnace was in an old shed full of stuff that belonged to Terry's grandparents. Dona Rae, Terry's mom, said we could have anything that we wanted in the shed. I took one look at this old furnace and immediately knew that it would make a cute lamp someday. We've had the furnace for about 3-4 years. Just needed a reason to get our creative juices flowing. We also took some old tools from the shed that I spray painted and now use them in John's bathroom for decoration. His bathroom is done in old tractors so the tools go nicely in there. I'm sure glad that someone held onto these few items so that I could have some cute old new stuff for my home! I won't tell ya about all the razzing I took from unmentioned family members for dragging home "junk". Bet they'd feel pretty bad if they could see how cute this dang lamp turned out. Not to mention that I have something of sentimental value from Grandpa Hall.
